Comparethetreatment.com has been recognised for devoting its energies to making the journey towards aesthetic treatments – and beyond – a safer experience for all of us.
With help from carefully selected ‘go to’ clinicians – all experts in their field – the team at comparethetreatment.com strives to keep us informed of the best practice when it comes to choosing both cosmetic procedures and related qualified clinicians.
And, with some of the most renowned aesthetic practitioners and cosmetic dentists in the UK as members, the website has been rewarded for its efforts, winning the 'Best Industry Media Dedicated to Safety' award at this year’s prestigious Safety in Beauty Campaign Diamond Awards.
The Awards are a major part of the industry’s annual White Party, created to recognise the significant contributions made in the health, beauty and aesthetics industry by brands, organisations, and professional individuals.
Organised by beauty expert, Antonia Mariconda – whose #SafetyinBeauty campaign aims to help, educate and empower consumers by facilitating a better, safer, more transparent industry – the dazzling event celebrated all those who take better responsibility for those seeking cosmetic treatments.
With education, trust and transparency the three main principles upon which the website was built, Comparethetreatment.com is the UK's leading cosmetic community.
It offers the very best advice from medical practitioners, real-life experiences and practice reviews, and blogs and articles all in a bid to help us make more confident treatment choices.
Reacting to the award win, Comparethetreatment.com founder, Tim Molony, said: ‘I am humbled that the website is now getting such recognition for our efforts by such an esteemed panel of industry experts.
‘By sharing up-to-date information with you, by giving you access to some of the most highly qualified cosmetic surgeons and dentists, and by offering insightful articles on the “who, what, where and when” of the cosmetic surgery business, we are delighted to have been honoured in this way.’
The website was launched with the aim of making it easier for us all to sift the qualified clinicians from the illegal rogue traders who plague an industry now worth £3.6 billion.
The internet is the obviously the most popular way we hunt down the people and places for cosmetic procedures but there remain a risk of receiving treatment from illegal opportunists if we fail to engage with reliable sources, such as comparethetreatment.com.
As the demand for cosmetic treatments grows, the online ‘safe haven’ of trustworthy clinical information is now an everyday essential for the ‘aesthetic treatment’-curious.
Also among the winners on the night was comparethetreatment’s expert Fulvio Urso-Baiarda.
The consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon – who has a passion for ‘creating naturally beautiful results’ – won Cosmetic Surgeon of the Year.
Celebrity guests included model Hayley Hasselhoff, daughter of legendary Baywatch star David, who enjoyed the spectacular evening at London’s prestigious Langham Hotel dressed head to toe in white at the star-studded affair.
Celebrating the evening, organiser Antonia Mariconda (also on the website’s expert panel) said: ‘The #SafetyinBeauty campaign enables me to help the public through a structured and proactive channel.
‘It was launched in October 2013 in response to the growing dissatisfaction and devastation caused by dubious treatments. I formed the organisation alone but, with the support of a group of like-minded professionals and experts, it has grown to what it is today.’
The party also raised thousands of pounds in aid of The Katie Piper Foundation.
Model and presenter Katie Piper courageously rebuilt her life after she was the victim of a rape and acid attack.
The founder of the Foundation was recognised as an inspirational person at the #SafetyinBeauty awards ceremony last year, winning the People’s Choice Award – Most Inspirational Person Award.
