The power of the smile was much in evidence at the culmination of the Progress 1000 campaign event celebrating London’s Most Influential People at Tate Modern.
These were harnessed in an Invisalign installation at the event, which sought to capture as many as 1,000 smiles in a GIF booth. Guests were encouraged to donate a series of smiles and the images were immediately turned into animations and displayed on a giant screen. For each selfie shared using #4millionsmiles, the company pledged a $1 dollar charitable contribution to Operation Smile - part of a quest to raise $1million by 2018 and transform the lives of people with clef lip and palate deformities worldwide.
The event was attended by Invisalign ambassadors Saira Khan and Andy Friedlander, as well as by two up-and-coming entrepreneurs – Onome Otite (below receiving Invisalign treatment) and Dr Rob McInerney who are part of Invisalign`s mentoring programme.
“I was so happy to share my Invisalign-treated smile using the #4millionsmiles hash tag on social media, and encouraged the high profile Progress 1000 guests who took part in the event to do the same. Grayson Perry, Diane Abbot MP, Nicky Morgan MP, Alistair Campbell and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, amongst others, were brilliant sports and so much fun taking part in having a selfie created for the Invisalign activation campaign for Operation Smile.”

“I really loved the event. As an emerging artist I loved that there was an interesting mix of creatives in such an iconic building dedicated to art and design. It was inspiring and it felt great to be part of the Progress 1000 mentorship programme. The Invisalign presence at the event was great. I thought the GIF booth really engaged with the visitors and was a fun and interactive way to get more people involved in 1000 smiles campaign for the Operation Smiles charity, and most importantly raise awareness for the cause. “
"London is so obviously at the forefront of innovation, culture and creativity, but with Progress 1000 I got a real sense of a community intent on doing its best for this city."
“We managed to get so many of the well-known faces to the GIF booth activation at the event, and raised the profile of both Invisalign and Operation Smile. "
