Braces before your wedding day

Orthodontics is the practice of preventing and correcting irregularities of the teeth and jaws using braces.

A wide variety of brackets and braces systems are now available, including smaller tooth-coloured ceramic brackets, low-friction braces such as the Damon system and clear aligners such as Invisalign.

The length and cost of orthodontic treatment will vary depending on the type of treatment required and the severity of crookedness and gaps that you may have.

If you are considering braces before your wedding there are various factors that you may wish to consider:

Time — It can be difficult for your orthodontist to give you a timescale that is set in stone but if you are wanting braces in the run up to your wedding there are ways to overcome the obvious issue of the braces showing up in your photos.  Some dentists will offer a ‘wedding package’ whereby if your teeth are not corrected by the time of your wedding they can be removed and replaced afterwards.

Type of brace — if you are suited to a removable brace such as Invisalign or the Inman Aligner, then you can benefit from the correction of your teeth in the run up to the wedding and then easily take them out on the wedding day.

Self Esteem — if your smile is something that really bothers you then take the plunge, it’s your big day and you want to feel the best you can!
