Cheek Implants
  • I have a gaunt face
  • I have hollow cheeks
  • I have no facial definition

Cheek implants, augmentation, is a procedure that is designed to add definition & shape to the face. It involves small incision either inside the mouth or just underneath the lower eyelash, the chosen implant is then simply inserted into the desired area.

Cheek implants, or cheek augmentation, is a procedure that is designed to add definition and shape to the face. An invasive, surgical practice, it is designed to add volume in order to balance out the face.

Cheek implants have been used by men and women in equal measure. Usually requested by those who feel their face is particularly flat or narrow, as well as those who have lost cheek definition due to an inherited deficiency, a trauma on the face or simple ageing. Cheek implants are available in a range of sizes to suit the face and needs of each individual. They can also be custom made in order to enhance smaller facial structure. It is recommended that patients investigate all non-invasive avenues, such as dermal fillers, before opting for invasive surgery.

The procedure includes creating an incision either inside the mouth or just underneath the lower eyelash, which is done to avoid excessive scarring. The chosen implant is then simply inserted into the desired area; whether it be the upper cheek in order to create a defined cheekbone, or into the lower or mid-cheek area in order to help plump out hallow cheeks. Some patients however may have both procedures done to change their face completely. Once completed, the incisions are then closed with dissolve stitches, which should heal within in a week or two.

Depending on the procedure undertaken, as well as the level of swelling and/or bruising, patients usually recover in a relatively short space of time – around 2-7 days. However it is worth noting that it is normal to experience a degree of pain, as well as difficulty talking and smiling for a number of days after the surgery.

Cheek implants have risen in popularity due to their natural results. Cheek Augmentation surgery is designed to either restore lost plumpness or enhance features in order to balance out the face. Results are instant, but it can take around 6 weeks for the final result to be achieved.

A ‘plumper’ face with strong cheekbones is often seen as the Holy Grail. The cheeks should highlight the face and act as a podium for the eyes, and full cheeks have long been suggested as a way to portray youth and attractiveness.

Cheek enhancement should be undetectable to the naked eyes. They are designed to work with your face – not against it – and help to restore self-confidence and boost self-esteem.

Cheek implants can cost anywhere between £1,500 — £3,000 depending on the type of implant used.
