INTRAcel is a resurfacing treatment that effectively tightens the skin and can deliver excellent results when treating acne and acne scars.
INTRAcel targets the middle layer of skin, known as the dermis, using a combination of fractional micro-needling and non-invasive electrodes. By traumatising the dermis with heat energy, the procedure encourages the skin to repair itself by stimulating new collagen and elastin production, both of which are responsible for skin firmness. While other laser treatments can result in burns, pain or significant down time, INTRAcel doesn’t damage the surface of the skin but still delivers a firmer, healthier and rejuvenated complexion.
Because it uses radio frequency heat energy to reduce bacteria and the production of oil (the two main causes of acne) INTRAcel can also be used to treat acne and acne scars.
As well as having a positive impact on the appearance of acne and acne scars, INTRAcel can reduce wrinkles and correct other scarring. The process of administering INTRAcel is quick and generally very little down time is needed following a course of treatment.
During an INTRAcel treatment there may be a small amount of pinpoint bleeding. Following the treatment the skin may feel sore for several hours. In most cases, redness in the treated areas will subside within 24 hours but there may be some bruising and puffiness around the eyes.
A few days after the treatment tiny scabs may appear where the needling took place. These will look like tiny purple dots and your skin may become flaky and dry. You will begin to notice visible results in the tone and texture of your skin around two weeks after the procedure as the collagen and cellular regeneration becomes evident.
Each INTRAcel treatment will cost approximately £400.
