Ramy qualified from Birmingham University after completing both a 3 year degree with Honours in B.Med.Sc. (Biomedical Materials Science) and a 5 year Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. As an undergraduate, Ramy’s group research project gained recognition through establishing a Patent, as well as winning second place BDA/Dentsply Student/Clinician Award.
Since graduation, Ramy has gained a wide range of experience both in general dental practice, practice management, supporting dental colleagues, as well as training young dental nurses. He has also been awarded the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties, Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS(Eng)). Ramy has a clinical interest in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, Endodontics, as well as Biotechnology/Biomaterials research.
Currently, Ramy is undertaking an MSc (Masters Degree) in Restorative Dentistry at Warwick University, in addition to preparing to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Implantology with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He is also involved in dental teaching, becoming a Dental Foundation Year Trainer with the South West Deanery, Bath Scheme.
Outside surgery hours, Ramy has recently been elected treasurer of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP) (UK) West Midlands Division. He is also the newsletter and website editor for the division. Ramy also participates with Gloucestershire Local Dental Committee.
Outside dentistry, Ramy enjoy various sports, such as football, tennis and swimming, as well as spending time with family and friends.
