During a buttock lift procedure, the surgeon makes incisions across the upper buttock. Half-moon shaped segments of skin and fat from underneath the surface of the skin are removed from the buttock area, then the remaining skin and tissue are lifted to achieve a tighter and smoother effect. A buttock lift will improve the appearance of loose or sagging skin around the buttocks, and is often combined with liposuction to remove excess fat for a complete reshaping of the bottom.
Recovery usually involves a 1-2 night stay in the clinic. Most patients return to work after 1-2 weeks of recuperation but it may take up to six weeks to feel completely back to normal. Bruising after buttock lift surgery is usually quite light but swelling is considerable and can take several weeks to disappear.
Generally there is some discomfort after surgery but this can be managed with pain medication as prescribed beforehand. You will be required to avoid sitting as much as possible, spending a lot of time lying on your stomach
The results for buttock implants are expected to be long lasting to permanent. However, implants may need to be revised or replaced in the future.
A buttock lift can cost from £5,000 — £6,500, and considerably more if other procedures such as liposuction are involved.
