Perlane injections are made from hyaluronic acid and are not sourced from animals. The cell particles of this acid used in a Perlane treatment are larger than those in other similar fillers, making it more suitable to treating deeper wrinkles. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area of the face that is being injected, before the treatment is carried out using an ultrafine needle.

Results will appear instantly and can last up to nine months however, for optimum results, it is recommended that you get regular top up injections. Perlane injections last twice as long as other collagen-based treatments.

It is common to experience slight itching and redness, as also occurs with other dermal filler treatments. These effects should die down within one week.
