A thread lift, sometimes referred to as a feather lift surgery, aims to create a natural look that lifts the skin. It is a cosmetic procedure that gently lifts the skin to create a smoother and a more youthful look. It is often chosen as it’s less invasive than alternatives and can create a natural yet rejuvenated appearance. The treatment also doesn’t come with the associated downtime or risks of typical face lift surgeries. A thread lift uses very fine threads, or surgical sutures, to create the results. These threads are inserted under the skin and into the face’s soft tissue. The threads are used to lift, improve and provide support to areas that are sagging. The treatment is ideal for those seeking a subtle rejuvenation without the need for invasive surgery.

A thread lift treatment initially involves a cosmetic practitioner making small incisions, these will be around 1-2mm long and made around the area where the treatment is taking place. A hollow needle will be used to put the threads in place, where they can then be adjusted to smooth and tighten the contours of the face and create the look you want. Once in position, the excess thread is trimmed. The length of the procedure varies depending on the number of areas being treated and the type of threads that are being used. Typically, a thread lift will take between 30 minutes to two hours to complete.

A thread lift procedure can be used to create a more youthful look without the side effects of more invasive treatments. The procedure will use different types of suture threads that will help to tighten and lift the skin. It can be used to reduce the appearance of jowls along the jawline, sagging around the cheeks, lower eyes and the mouth and raise the outer brow.

After the treatment, you may experience some soreness, swelling, bruising and puffiness but this should subside after just a few days. Compared to other face lift treatments, a thread lift is not as invasive and has fewer side effects.

The total cost of thread lift treatment depends on the area that is being treated. For a single area, you can expect to pay approximately £1,500.
