Dr Hamed Karimi

About: Hamed is the lead clinician and director of Norfolk Dental Specialists. A registered specialist in Periodontics with the General Dental Council, his work is dedicated to providing specialist periodontal (gum disease) treatment, dental implants and oral reconstruction. He is committed to excellence in patient care, and providing successful treatment outcomes, in a kind, gentle, and caring environment.

Hamed qualified in 1995 from Edinburgh University Dental School. He practised hospital dentistry and gained the Fellowship in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDS RCS Eng) in the field of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine. He worked in private and NHS dental practice before embarking on the prestigious specialist training programme in the field of periodontology at Guy’s Hospital. He gained his M.Sc. (Master of Science) in Periodontology in 2001, and his M. Clin. Dent. (Master of Clinical Dentistry) in 2003, qualifying with a distinction.

This was followed by Membership in Restorative Dentistry- one of the highest qualifications in the field of Restorative Dentistry awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He is registered as a specialist in Periodontics with the General Dental Council. Hamed has been involved in the field of periodontology and implant dentistry since 1999. He is an active member of scientific societies including the British Dental Association, British Society of Periodontology, Association of Osseointegration (USA), and European Association of Osseointegration.

A previous specialist dental teacher at Guy’s, King’s and St.Thomas’ Dental School, he now lectures to qualified dentists in Norwich and Ipswich University hospitals. He is highly regarded and also lectures internationally.
