Dr Matthew Chia, BDS (Distinction), MFDS RCS Eng., MSc. (Univ. London), MOrth RCS Eng., FDS (Orthodontics) RCS Eng.

Dr Chia qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1998, obtaining a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction. He was awarded a number of clinical and academic prizes during this time.

Following hospital posts in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Restorative Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry, he received his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001 .

He went on to complete a three-year full-time specialist Orthodontic training programme at The Royal London Hospital. During this period, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and completed his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005.

He was also awarded the Geoffrey Fletcher Prize from the British Orthodontic Society.

He undertook a further two years of higher specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and was awarded
the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008.

Dr Chia is an accredited specialist and is on the specialist register for Orthodontics at the General Dental Council. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies.

Dr Chia is also a Hospital Consultant Orthodontist based in London. He has published scientific papers and presented his research at National and International Orthodontic conferences. He is also a contributing author and reviewer for a number of National and International journals.

He is involved in teaching Orthodontics at postgraduate level and actively lectures to postgraduate students and the wider dental community. Currently, he has a further role as an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

As a specialist in Orthodontics, Dr Chia accepts referrals for the full range of Orthodontic problems affecting adults
and children. He provides a variety of treatments using techniques that have been clinically and scientifically evaluated.
