Dr Nicolaas Louw qualified at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1981. From 1981-1983 he was involved with community dentistry in rural South Africa (Compulsory National Service). In the period from 1983-2003 his dental career was spent as a Practice Principal in Mafiking, South Africa. From 2003-2013 he was an associate dentist with Total Dental care in Folkestone, Kent, United Kingdom and In 2014 he became the practice principal of Castle Street Dental Practice.

He regularly keeps up with new developments and trends in dentistry and amongst others attended these courses:

- Foundation courses in Surgical and Restorative Implantology with ITI 2008
- Aesthetics Practitioner course Manchester 2012
