Dr Peter Sanders

Dr Peter Sanders is one of the UK’s most respected and renowned implantologists and has been a practising dentist for over 30 years. Dr Sanders began his implant training in 1997, studying at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. Since then he has completed every existing level of dental implant training available, attending courses across the globe in countries including America, Hong Kong, Germany, France, Italy and Austria.

In 2005 Dr Sanders became the first dentist in the region to achieve the Royal College of Surgeons Implant Diploma. He is now Cohort Course Director and Examiner for the course.

Whilst there are many Dentists in the UK that perform implantology, there are very few with the level of training and experience Dr Peter Sanders has achieved. 

Dr Sanders opened the Southampton based Dental Confidence Implant Centre in 2008 to focus solely on the placement of dental implants. Since then the Implant Centre has successfully treated thousands of patients and is recognised for its standards of excellence, with a client base travelling from all regions of the UK. Dr Sanders now places and restores over 400 implants every year.

In 2009 Dr Sanders gained an MSc in Implantology and was most recently awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice by the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

He is currently responsible for delivery of the Faculty of General  Dental Practice Implant Diploma programme at Leeds Dental School and Examining at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Dr Sanders trains, mentors and supports many colleagues as they develop their knowledge, skills and experience in the field of implantology. He is also often called upon to write articles for dental publications, offer expert statements to dental defence organisations and the GDC and regularly attends implant related conferences across the globe.
