Lucy Horton.Being dually qualified as Dental Hygienist and a Therapist, Laura is responsible for looking after our patient’s oral hygiene education, gingival health, maintenance and simple or complex scaling. In addition she is also able to perform all types of fillings on both adults and children, with the exception of adult root treatments and crowns and bridgework.

Other responsibilities include:

• Extracting children’s teeth
• Placing preformed crowns on children’s teeth
• Applying fissure sealants
• Taking impressions
• Taking radiographs
• Administering local anaesthetics
• Administering topical fluoride applications
• Whitening

After being a dental nurse for two years I trained at Portsmouth University to get my degree in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.  I am enjoying my new role as a therapist within the team, especially working with patients to improve their oral hygiene. I love to keep fit and relax at Nirvana Spa in my spare time when not socialising with friends and family.
