What Happens?
CoolSculpting is a fat freezing treatment that produces results similar to those of plastic surgery, but without going under the knife. During the procedure, first an anti-freeze pad is applied to the skin that is going to be treated. Once the gel is applied, a vacuum is initiated on the applicator through the cooling panels, this sucks up the fat in the area. For 60 minutes, the panels are held there to do the cooling.

What Coolsculpting ISNT?
Some assume CoolSculpting should be a solution to obesity. However, this is not the case. The treatment only removes fat from certain areas of the body and does not treat obesity. It’s important to remember that fat reduction is not the same as weight loss.

What can you do whilst being treated?
You can do whatever you want, as long as you are still! Read, sleep, work from your computer! At Illuminate we have apple TV in the Coolsculpting room allowing you to watch all the latest movies and box sets.

Does it hurt?
Generally CoolSculpting patients report back after the procedure telling us it wasn’t “not too bad.” While it’s not completely painless, the sensation is more like pulling, cooling, and numbness, and less like a pain. Due to the non-invasive nature of the procedure, patients usually return to normal activities and work the same day they have CoolSculpting performed.
