What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy comes in two forms: traditional mesotherapy and needle-free mesotherapy. In traditional mesotherapy, small quantities of pharmaceutical or homeopathic medications are injected just below the surface of the skin where cell growth and repair occurs, targeting areas that require treatment and so, in theory, minimising side-effects. Needle-free or injection-free mesotherapy uses an electrophoresis wand rather than needles.

What is mesotherapy used for?

Mesotherapy treatments are used for many conditions, but some of the most popular uses are to break down cellulite or fat and rejuvenate the skin. Sessions usually last less than 30 minutes.

Cellulite and Fat Reduction
Mesotherapy treatments claim to dissolve the fat in the skin and breaks up the connective tissue that traps fat cells to form cellulite, so that the excess fat can be excreted by the body. The process is also used to break down normal fat in areas such as under the chin and around the waist.

Skin Rejuvenation

Various mixtures of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino acids are used to rejuvenate your skin by stimulating drainage and the production of collagen and elastin. Sometimes botulinum toxin and other wrinkle treatments may be added.

How long will it take me to recover from Mesotherapy?

Most patients have no ill effects from mesotherapy and can go about their day as normal straight after mesotherapy treatment.

Are there any risks with Mesotherapy?
There is a very minimal risk of infection and allergy. Many of the ingredients used in mesotherapy are naturally-occurring substances. There may be some mild bruising or swelling which should disappear within a few days.

How much does mesotherapy cost?

Prices for a session of mesotherapy vary greatly depending on the ingredients used, the treatment’s purpose and the area to be treated. Mesotherapy sessions cost from £35 to £500 a session, with a course of treatments costing between £700 and £1500.
