Breast Implant Revision
  • My boob job went wrong
  • I don’t like the size of my breast implants
  • I’m not happy with the shape of my breast implants

If a patient is not happy with the results of breast implant surgery, or ‘breast augmentation’, breast implant revision can address these problems.

If a patient is not happy with the results of breast implant surgery, or ‘breast augmentation’, breast implant revision can address these problems. The size of the implant can be changed, asymmetrical breasts can be corrected and any sagging that has appeared once the operation is over can be amended.

Breast implant revision is suitable if your implants have deflated or a leak has occurred, or if you want to change the size of the original implant. Sometimes tightening can occur of the scar tissue around the breast, or the position of the implants can change. Breast implant revision can also help with this. Finally, if breast tissue has changed due to weight fluctuation or skin stretching then a breast implant revision is also suitable.

A breast revision procedure is more complex than the initial breast implant surgery and more advanced skills, attention to detail and techniques are required in order to conduct the treatment. Factors such as scar tissue and changes to the breast and skin following the previous surgery must be taken into account.

More than one procedure is often required for during a breast revision treatment. For example, after a breast reduction revision has been completed, further surgery to lift and re-position the breast shape and surrounding tissue may also be needed. After breast augmentation, another revision needed may be to remove any scar tissue surrounding the implants, replacing them to a new, desired position.

Soreness if a common side effect of breast revision surgery, as well as some swelling. While some discomfort is to be expected, many women return to their normal activities and work after one or two weeks of recovery.

A breast lift will leave a patient with scars as the position of the nipple is lifted.

The same incision that was made to insert an implant is almost always used to remove it during breast revision surgery.

The cost for breast revision surgery start at £800, rising up to £3,800.
