Dysport® is an alternative to Botox® in that is a procedure which takes the form of an injection and administered to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It works by relaxing the muscles, and just like Botox® injections, will be injected into a specific area, such as the forehead, preventing muscle contraction. Dysport® injections are made from the same protein as Botox® injections.
Dysport® injections can be used to prevent excess sweating and will be administered to the troublesome area.
As Dysport® injections are typically painless, there is no need for patients to be placed under anaesthetic before they are administered. The injection is delivered straight to the troubled area, targeting the muscles responsible for the appearance of unsightly fine lines or undesirable wrinkles.
Sessions will usually take around a quarter of an hour or less. They should be are administered every six weeks, with most patients having anything from three to a maximum of five injections, in order to get the desired result.
Dysport® injections are the ideal solution for almost anyone who wishes to reduce the appearance of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles, on the face. The result is a younger and more refreshed appearance.
Dysport® injections are usually safe, though side effects may include bruising and soreness for a number of hours after the treatment. Allergic reactions can occur in a small number of case known as ptosis – this is where the eyelid droops.
Around £150 - £350 per treatment.
