Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation, or lip enhancement, injects a dermal filler into the lips to boost their natural appearance, creating a fuller, plumper look. The injections contain a naturally occurring hyaluronic acid gel and can be used to help women with thin or thinning lips. Additionally, lip augmentation can give lips a more youthful appearance, as well as helping to turn the corners of the mouth upwards to make for a more refined smile.

Small amounts of the lip filler will be injected into the border or body of the lips. The exact area where it is injected depends on the overall effect that is desired as a result of the treatment. A local anaesthetic is applied to reduce pain, as the process can be quite uncomfortable. Each procedure takes around 30 minutes to complete, offering instant results.

This is a safe method of lip enhancement. It can improve the appearance of ageing lips by enhancing volume and definition. Patients with a mismatched upper and lower lip can also use the treatment to restore balance between the two sets of lips.

It is common to experience redness and swelling. However, these effects are only temporary and will disappear shortly after the treatment is completed.
